100% GROWN AND MADE IN THE USA!

THE BEDDING

Rowdy Rooster Hemp animal bedding is made from hemp hurd and hemp hurd powder (the wood stalk part of the plant).  Our hemp hurd has been cleaned, kiln heat treated, and finely milled.  This results in maximized absorbency and softness.  We do not use any chemicals or chemical processes, and our entire operation is sustainable and carbon negative.  Hemp animal bedding, when heat treated, has been proven to inhibit the growth of E. Coli.  Hemp is naturally bacteria, pest, and mold resistant. Of all the bedding materials, it is reported to have the highest absorbency.  Our bedding is mixed with hemp hurd powder, to maximize this absorbency.  Give hemp animal bedding a try!

Animals need plenty of fresh, clean and absorbent animal bedding.  This is one of the best ways to maintain animal health and hygiene. Bedding needs to absorb manure and urine that contains harmful ammonia.  Bedding should also provide comfortable footing for animals' feet and for chickens, a soft landing spot for the eggs they will lay.  Bedding should also be soft and cushioning enough to allow for proper circulation to ensure an animals' comfort to get a healthy night's sleep. Animals need their sleep too!

How often is animal bedding changed?

Animal bedding should be changed whenever you smell a build-up of bad odors or if there are any obvious signs of mess. A messy cage, coop, or stall often results in a number of possible problems.

What are the dangers of certain animal bedding characteristics?

Piles of manure at their feet, mold spores, and dust present leads to the risk of illness, disease and respiratory problems.

WHY HEMP?

Clumps for easy clean up

Natural pest repellent - hemp has a natural pesticide that repels all kinds of pests, like mites, flies and others

Highly absorbent - Hemp bedding is a hyper absorbent natural product Hemp bedding can absorb twice as much as standard wood shavings.  Added absorbency reduces risks associated with ammonia fumes (naturally occurring in urine) that are dangerous to respiratory systems.

No dangerous chemicals - Hemp is one of the most naturally produced animal beddings on the market. Other beddings can contain phenols that are toxic and the acids released from wood shavings can gradually cause damage to your animals’ respiratory system
